My Diet/Nutrition

I have a couple people asking me, “what kind of stuff are you eating while doing P90X?” so I have decided to post my diet and nutrition plan on here.  I would like to take this time to give credit to Coach Josh for 90% of my diet. Most of you know that Coach Josh is my P90x/Beachbody coach and he has a website www.IWantToGetRipped.com which has many posts of  information and helpful tips.

HERE WE GO:

I’m sure this will eventually change, however, at the moment my current diet/nutrition plan is as follows:

BREAKFAST @ 8:30am: Bowl of cheerios and a protein shake (banana, peanut butter, lowfat milk, protein powder and ice)

SNACK @ 11:30am: Celery and peanut butter. (8 sticks of celery [2-3 inches long], 2 tablespoons peanut butter)

LUNCH @ 1:30pm: Salad w/cucumber, sliced carrots and fat free Italian dressing; as well as, a tuna sandwich OR tuna and crackers. (12 saltine crackers)

SNACK @ 3:30pm: String cheese OR fat free yogurt OR cottage cheese.

DINNER @ 6:30pm: Chicken (Boneless/skinless Chicken breast) or fish (Tilapia or salmon), veggies and cottage cheese.

PROTEIN SHAKES: I have a shake in the morning with breakfast (explained above), I have a shake a little bit after my workout and recovery drink and I have a protein shake a little before bed. (casein protein because it is slower digesting than whey protein).

PRE/POST WORKOUT: About 30 minutes before my workout I take creatine mixed with 100% grape juice. AFTER my workout I take the P90X recovery drink (or alternative) followed by a protein shake with dinner. (because I work out in the after noon) HOWEVER, if I have a good amount of protein in my dinner I will skip the shake after workout because my dinner will provide the nutrients to replenish my muscles.

I gotta say: The diet/nutrition is not as hard to follow as I thought it was going to be. I just had to make that decision to make the changes in my eating habit and stick to them. Truthfully, I like eating this diet better then the way I was eating before. I feel more energized and aware.

I will be posting updates as my diet changes.
